An update from our NewHope Global Partners Phil & Carol Short:
Dear friends,
Thank you for praying for our kidnapped colleague. We have no word on where he’s being held and continue to pray for his protection and the Lord’s sustaining grace for him and his family.
We are grateful too for your prayers concerning our planned return to West Africa next week. Yesterday was a sad day for us as we received word from our field leadership that we have to cancel our plans to return. We respect the decision because we’ve been praying that God would guide the leadership in it.
We are disappointed as we were looking forward to renewed contact with colleagues and friends who have become so dear to us. There were opportunities too that we wanted to pursue that had opened up in our last time there, believers to encourage and share with, and communities that had invited us to come to share the message with them.
We genuinely believe that our God is working out his plan and we can fully trust him to continue his work there. We expect to continue our work from a distance, as we have in the past two years, to partner with our colleagues and see his kingdom expand there, as well as keep on with what we’ve been doing here.
Thank you for joining us in praying that the Lord will protect our friends there and that the Holy Spirit will guide and equip them in these challenging times.
We pray for you too, that whatever your circumstances, your trust in God will remain strong. “Knowing that he loves you so much that he did not even spare his own Son but gave him up for us all.” Nothing can separate us from his love. Absolutely nothing.
Thank you so much for your partnership with us.
With our love,
Phil and Carol
