What happens in a Sunday service?

Our Sunday services are about 90 minutes and include worship through music, prayer, Bible teaching and opportunities to reflect and respond. Whether you've been part of church for years or are visiting for the first time, you're welcome to join us.

Will I be asked to introduce myself?

No. You won't be asked to stand up, introduce yourself or participate in anything you're not comfortable with. You're welcome to simply come, observe and take things at your own pace.

What should I wear?

Come as you are. Most people dress casually, while others prefer something a little more formal. Wear whatever you're comfortable in.

What if I've never been to church before?

You're very welcome. You don't need to know anything about church to visit NewHope. Our services are designed so anyone can come along, whether you're exploring faith, returning to church after some time away or simply curious. Our Welcome Team is always happy to help if you have any questions.

What about my kids?

We love having children as part of our church family. During our morning services, we offer engaging programs for children in a safe and caring environment. Our team will help you check your children in and answer any questions when you arrive. You're also welcome to keep your children with you during the service if that's what you prefer.

Kid's Check-in and our New Families Desk are on the Mezzanine (Level 1).

Is there a Parents Room?

Our Parents space is available for feeding, changing, or giving little ones room to wriggle and move, while you engage with the service. Little ones are always welcome in the service with you, and kids aged 1 to Grade 6 are invited to join NewHope Kids upstairs.

Where should I park?

There is plenty of free parking available on site, including accessible parking close to the main entrance.

On Sundays, our Carpark team will help you find a spot.

We try to save a few spots specifically for newcomers, though we recommend arriving about 15 minutes before the service to park.

We also have plenty of parking available around NewHope. See the map below:

Is NewHope accessible?

Yes. Our building is wheelchair accessible and includes accessible parking and toilet facilities. If there's anything we can do to help make your visit easier, please get in touch or speak with one of our team when you arrive.

Can I come if I'm not a Christian?

Absolutely. Many people visit NewHope while exploring faith or asking questions about Jesus. You're welcome to come, listen, observe and participate as much or as little as you're comfortable with.

What happens after the service?

After each service, we'd love you to hang around. It's a great opportunity to meet people, ask questions or simply enjoy a conversation. If you'd rather head off straight after the service, that's perfectly okay too.

Do I need to bring anything?

No. Just bring yourself. If you have children, you may like to bring anything they usually need, but otherwise simply come as you are.

Which service should I attend?

Each of our Sunday services shares the same heart and teaching, but each has its own feel and community. You're welcome at any service, and we'd love to help you find the one that's the best fit for you.

What if I don't know anyone?

That's okay. Many people visit NewHope knowing no one at all. Our Welcome Team is here to help you find your way and answer your questions. Whether you choose to stay and chat afterwards or quietly head home, you'll be warmly welcomed.

Will I be photographed or filmed during a service or event?

At NewHope we often take photos and videos during services, events, and ministry programs to share what God is doing in the life of our church. Our first morning service is also livestreamed, and all services may be recorded or photographed.

We recognise that some people may prefer not to appear in photos or video. If that’s you, we provide a camera-free seating area. If you would prefer not to be included in photos or video, please sit in the back left section of the auditorium near Events Room 1, where filming and photography are not directed.

You are also able to update your image-use preferences in the Church Center App.

We also take extra care with children: identifiable images are only used with parent or guardian consent, and children are never identified by full name in public-facing materials.

What’s the best way to get connected?

We encourage all newcomers to fill out the I'm new Form, so a member of our team can get in touch and help you make NewHope home.

A great way to meet people is in our Cafe or by the coffee cart after the service. Once a month we also have a “coffee with the pastor” by the Next Steps banner. Check out all our Newcomers Events.

Joining a team (serving side-by-side) or joining a group are also great way to get connected. To this fill out the Take your next step Form.
