Staff Changes in 2024

Published on December 20, 2023

In 2024, we are excited for a new season of ministry at NewHope. There will be changes in our staff space with several colleagues shifting into new roles and taking up new opportunities. We also look forward to welcoming new faces to our team. Here are a few of the highlights.

Lance Blythe will step into the role of Director of NewHope Community Care. Lance will continue to exercise his wider pastoral ministry and leadership at NewHope as an Associate Pastor.

Phil Gaudion will step into the role of Young Adult Pastor. He will help support and strengthen leaders and will attend to the wider focus of NHYA ministry. Phil will continue his work with Alpha, NHCC and the Communications ministry team.

Adam Southwood will become the Engagement Pastor overseeing the Connect & Integration team, NewHope Groups and Youth Ministry. He will chair the Young Adult planning team, provide key pastoral leadership to the 5pm service and foster healthy generational ministry transitions. He will continue on the Communications ministry team.

Hannah Freeman will become the Youth Pastor and continue her work in NewHope Community Care.

Tam Gaudion will take up responsibility for the Women’s Ministry working with the Awe & Wonder Team and will continue to lead the Connect team.

Kaylee Crous has been newly appointed as Kids Ministry Assistant to work closely with our Kids Ministry Pastor Bec Burley.

Yang Yang has moved from being the Playgroup Assistant to the Playgroup Ministry Leader as Angela Natsis increases her days for the Events Ministry.

Billy Dyett has been appointed as our new Youth Worker, reporting to the Youth Pastor Hannah Freeman.

An Experienced Pastor. We intend to appoint an individual with experience to exercise a wide pastoral and leadership ministry at NewHope.

Other Changes. There are significant changes for Allan and Surette (e.g. additional direct reports and pastoral load) and many adjustments for all of our staff in this period.

We are so very grateful for these colleagues in ministry. They each serve with a heart for the Lord and a passion for God’s mission in the world. They have responded to this season of change with grace and humility and renewed excitement in the Lord.

And thanks to all our amazing leaders and those who serve as volunteers in the ministries of NewHope. We appreciate you and know that many of you are directly affected by these changes. God is at work in each of us, leading us towards a flourishing life that bears much ‘fruit that will last’. Thank you for your prayers and commitment in this season of transition.
