You’re Invited to Food Swap

Published on September 11, 2024

Have you ever thought of growing your own organic produce at home? Spring has sprung and now is the perfect time to get out in the garden and have a go. And the best part is, you don’t have to figure it out alone.

You’re invited to Food Swap, a community of like-minded food gardeners who come together once a month and share their excess homegrown produce. No money is exchanged, only homegrown food surplus, gardening knowledge, and good company!

Thanks to a generous grant from Whitehorse City Council, we also have seedlings, seeds and small gardening equipment to share. Our vision is to resource and empower people to grow their own organic produce, collaborate with others in community and care for creation through sustainable food practices. We’re so grateful to Whitehorse City Council for supporting this work to grow and flourish.

We hope you can come along to our next Food Swap on Saturday the 28th of September at 10am. All are welcome! From experienced home gardeners to budding green thumbs just starting out. Come meet new friends, gain new knowledge and share with others in our growing multicultural community.

Where: NewHope Community Kitchen, 3 Springfield Rd, Blackburn North (entry via Dale Crt)

When: The fourth Saturday of every month from 10am to 11am.

Upcoming Dates: 28 Sep, 26 Oct and 23 Nov

Tea and coffee will be served.

We hope to see you there!
