Baptism & Membership
Welcome to NewHope’s Baptism and Membership training. We are thrilled that you are considering this next step of commitment in your walk with Jesus.
Baptism is the outward sign of the inward decision you have already made to follow Jesus. At NewHope we practice what is called “believer’s baptism” and this online training course has been developed to help you find out more.
Please spend time with all six video modules below and use the Training Transcript and Reflection Exercises to go deeper. The videos are short and the whole course should take less than two hours to complete.
Membership is about committing to the body of believers at NewHope and working together to discern and make decisions that shape our shared future. When people are baptised at NewHope, it’s our joy to welcome them into membership of our church.
If you have been baptised already and are thinking of transferring your membership to NewHope, we invite you to engage with this training as well. While some of the practical details will not apply, it is important to understand NewHope’s practice of believer’s baptism as you consider becoming a member.
