Stories from Youth Camp

Published on May 7, 2025

We had an incredible Youth Camp during the April school holidays! A total of 129 youth and leaders spent the week together pursuing God and enjoying community. Our theme, Jesus is King, took us through stories from the final week of Jesus’ life, as we reflected on what it means to follow a King who chooses humility, service, and weakness—again and again—for the sake of love.

There are so many stories we could share of God-encounters and transformation, but I think the youth say it best. Here are just a few quotes from them:

“He has given me wisdom to be open to new people”

“I have felt God’s presence through this camp and God showed me that he is always with me and that Jesus is King”

“God has kept us all safe through the ups and downs and helped me and my group feel his love even more”

“He has helped me to give myself to him and follow him”

“Camp really grounded me and helped me to reconnect after getting really busy with school”

“I thank God for the new friendships I’ve made and how I have become more motivated with my relationship with God”

Thank you to everyone who spent time praying for us. God showed up in beautiful ways in response to your prayers. Please continue to pray for our Youth.

64 of our youth committed to a next step on camp!

Many youth said that on camp they:
Said ‘yes’ to Jesus = 26
Recommitted to following Jesus = 27

Or they felt God was inviting them to:
Read their bible = 33
Get baptised = 6
Invite a friend to youth = 14
and/or
Share their faith with others = 24

Camp makes such a huge difference in the lives of young people. If you are able, please consider supporting Youth Camp financially. We make every effort to keep costs down, but we understand that camps are still not affordable for everybody. It’s a joy to be able to share that sponsorship support has enabled several people to be partially or fully sponsored on youth camp this year. We are so grateful for your continued generosity!
