Opportunities

An opportunity to hear Cathy. Our own Cathy De Witt preached at Clayton Church of Christ this past Sunday. You can view the service here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=swyRGScHr4k and be blessed by Cathy’s message (starts at 33:15) and the experience of visiting a neighbouring church.

An opportunity for parents with children at Old Orchard Primary School. Do you have children currently attending Old Orchard Primary? You’re invited to join with other parents in prayer each Wednesday 2:50pm at the school. A number of parents will be finishing up next year as their children move on to high school, so we’d love to encourage others to come and join. To find out more, please contact news@newhope.net.au and we’ll put you in touch with Siew who helps to organise the prayer group.

An opportunity to feedback on how Christians make ethical decisions. Do you identify as a Christian? Do you live in Australia? Are you 18 or older? You are invited to be part of a survey exploring how Christians make ethical decisions, particularly in relation to LGBTQ+ people. The study is funded by the Australian Research Council and led by Professor Douglas Ezzy at the University of Tasmania. Take the survey here: https://utas.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_1FDS3etuls9HdGe (it should take about 15 minutes). If you would like to know more, please contact Sue Holdsworth (susan.holdsworth@utas.edu.au) or Professor Douglas Ezzy (douglas.ezzy@utas.edu.au). (Uni. Of Tas. Ethics project ID 30760)

Room Available: single room, furnished with a double bed in Box Hill South, close to the shops and public transport. $300 per week including all utilities & internet. Suitable for a single professional person. No pets. Hoping for someone from NewHope. For further info please contact news@newhope.net.au and we will put you in touch with Rachael.

Volunteers Required: as we continue to grow our relationship with Kerrimuir Primary School which is primarily built upon the Kids Hope (mentoring) program, we are seeking volunteers for a school excursion on Wednesday 4th of September. The Grade 6 students are going into the city for the day to complete a tour of the city with challenges to complete. We are looking for support in the way of adult helpers (with Working with Children checks) – volunteers need to be fit! If you are interested, please contact news@newhope.net.au or the church reception and we will put you in touch with Peter Siede (Kids Hope Coordinator).

Do you have a notice to share?

If you have some news, a need or an opportunity to share with our NewHope family, please let us know by filling out the submission form. Please see the Family Notice Board policy for more information about the kind of content which is appropriate for this space.
