Greetings.

NewHope Baptist Church is a thriving community in Blackburn North Victoria with over 700 members and 1,200 active supporters, worshipping in three different language based congregations.

Our heart at NewHope is to have a Christ centred culture. We long to be present and connected as we serve God’s kingdom purposes, engage in passionate worship and unite in prayer. We believe strongly in equipping believers for service and growing disciples so that together, we reflect Christ to the world. Our desire is to see the Spirit moving in power and God’s love spilling over into our streets and filling every home.

Our Senior Pastor will have a generational perspective and a heart for empowering our community with spiritual mentorship. At NewHope we are committed to growth and stability in our wide range of ministries, including those for children, youth and young adults, which have been an important part of the life of our church over many years. Our Senior Pastor will also be able to build community as culture shifts, and stand boldly for Jesus, speaking His truth in love.

We are seeking a Jesus-centered, people-oriented senior leader to guide us, minister alongside us, and join us on our journey of spiritual growth and discipleship.

Expressions of Interest

As of 1 November 2024 the initial round of expressions of interest for the Senior Pastor position has concluded. We are actively reviewing the applications received and have begun a thorough two-way selection and discernment process with each eligible candidate.

If you have not yet applied and feel a calling to this position, we remain open to God’s guidance and would love to hear from you. To register your interest, please submit the following to spsc@newhope.net.au:

- A cover letter (1-2 pages) introducing yourself and sharing why you believe God is calling you to this role and how your heart aligns with the NewHope Senior Pastor Profile; and
- An up-to-date resume

After receiving your submission, a member of our Senior Pastor Search Committee will reach out to you.

We understand that through the search process there will be many questions, and we are committed to a thorough, two-way selection and discernment process. Additional written information will be requested as needed from candidates progressing through the interview stages.

Together, we will connect, learn, ask, pray, and discern God’s will for NewHope.
