CRISP: Providing hands-on support for a refugee household

Published on March 12, 2025

Do you want to help a refugee family in a practical and meaningful way?

Australians now have the opportunity to sponsor and welcome refugee families into their local communities through community sponsorship

The Community Refugee Integration and Settlement Pilot (CRISP) enables a local group of five or more people to welcome and support a refugee family from their first day in Australia.

Groups are screened and trained prior to being matched with a refugee household that has been identified as in urgent need of resettlement by the UNHCR.

Join the NewHope Team

In partnership with NewHope Community Care, a bunch of NewHopers have begun to form a team! We currently have 5 people but ideally we would love 2-3 more. We would particularly welcome the contribution of anyone who knows how to work a budget, but are very open to anyone who is interested!

Please reach out to Hannah Freeman with an expression of interest by Friday the 21st of March.
