Food Pantry Need & Opportunity

Published on February 26, 2025

Our NewHope Community Care Food Pantry is a wonderful gift to the community. We support people who are vulnerable to food insecurity and offer practical help and ongoing hope.

The Need.
Recently, Food Bank Victoria has withdrawn their support of our Food Pantry. This sad news has left a gap to be filled and we are exploring opportunities to partner with other local churches. We appreciate your prayers.

The Opportunity.
While we wait on the Lord to open new opportunities for ongoing partnerships, we’d love to invite you to consider how you can help.

At Work.
Maybe you can start a collection at your workplace and invite your colleagues to be involved. Whether it’s a once off invite, or even better, a continuing opportunity like a basket or bin where people can drop off their non-perishable food donations for NHCC. This could be a great talking point and even open the way for faith conversations. If you’re interested, let us know. We’d love to support you with resources such as flyers/signage and prayer.

As a Family.
Practice generosity as a family and get your kids involved in picking out food items to put in the blue bins at church. Talk together about what it looks like to care for our community.

As a Church.
We know that great things happen when we come together and seek the Kingdom of God for our world. May our church be known as a place of love and generosity.
