On Sunday, June 26th at the 11am service we’ll have a special opportunity to gather together as a church family and celebrate the baptism of one of our grade 6 children, Toby Yong.
The Kids Church children and their leaders will be joining the adult gathering for the first part of the service and we are very excited about this opportunity for intergenerational worship.
On that Sunday, the 11am service will look a little bit different.
Families, you will see the check-in desk in the main foyer when you arrive. Once you’ve checked your children in, you can all head into the auditorium together as a family. We’ll have a specially designated area for kids and families to sit together near the front of the room with the Kids Church team.
We’ll sing some songs that both kids and adults will recognise and then everyone will get a chance to bring out their inner-child as we learn a special Kids Church song together, complete with actions!
Kids will see familiar Kids Church faces on the stage and we’ll be thinking about baptism together as we hear Toby’s testimony and celebrate God’s goodness in his life.
There will also be a special time of intergenerational prayer to close our time together. Following this time, the kids will go with their leaders back to their Kids Church rooms for our end of term break-up party.
If your child finds change a bit tricky, please don’t hesitate to let us know how we can work with you to make the morning fun and safe. We’ve prepared a Social Story with pictures to help children know what to expect on this special Sunday. You can find the social story HERE.
Children and families from our Farsi gathering who meet at the 11am service are also welcome to join us! To read this article in Farsi, please click HERE.
It is sure to be a wonderful morning and we are looking forward to being together as a marvellous, diverse and exciting NewHope family!
Plan to join us! If you normally attend the 9am service, you may like to come along to 11am this Sunday to join in the fun!
