“This week at the NewHope Community Care Relief Centre we received an all too familiar phone call. A mum of a young child hastily looking for furniture to set up a rental home, due to a domestic violence situation. She was referred to NewHope Community Care from Anglicare, who know that we are an agent for Eastern Emergency Relief. EERN are currently running on an ‘Emergency Only’ status, trying to keep contact to an absolute minimum due to lockdown but yet still provide for the needs of the community.
I contacted them to ask about the furniture and whitegoods that were required, and miraculously, they had what we needed (whitegoods are in short supply at the moment due to lockdown). Adam Southwood and I grabbed our Essential Worker Permits and dropped in the furniture Thursday afternoon to a very grateful young mum. We were also able to let her know about NewHope’s food pantry and other services.” – Phil Gaudion
We hope this story from Phil encourages you today. Kingdom work is happening even in lockdown! Where have you seen the Kingdom of God breaking into your world this week? Let us know. We would love to celebrate and pray with you.
