Christians Against Poverty (CAP) Partnership

Published on October 20, 2020

In recent years NewHope Community Care has had a partnership with Christians Against Poverty (CAP) to provide free debt management with a personal coach. CAP Money courses have also been run to help people learn budgeting skills. For a time we worked in this together with One Community church. The focus was on empowering people to get themselves out of poverty, restoring their hope and dignity. It led to some taking next steps into other areas of NewHope, and there are many ongoing relationships.

The formal partnership of 7+ years has now come to an end, and we say a very big thank you to all those who contributed financially or volunteered their time to help others confidentially in this ministry. Nonetheless as the need arises, we continue to walk alongside people under financial pressure, advocate for them and refer wherever appropriate. Enquiries to Danny Hunt at the church office.
