NAIDOC Week: 3 July to 10 July 2022

Published on July 5, 2022

NAIDOC Week is an annual week-long celebration of the histories, cultures and achievements of First Nations people here in Australia. It’s a chance to learn about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, a chance to engage with amazing cultures that are thousands of years old, a chance to recognise the contributions that Indigenous Australians make to our country and our society, and a chance to highlight challenges that need addressing — to look at how far we’ve come and how far we still have to go.

NAIDOC Week is an important opportunity for learning, connection and community. As a church with People Matter Most as one of our key values, we care deeply about recognising and honouring the many and varied cultures that make up community here at NewHope. Do you have a story to share? We’d love to hear it. Do you have input to contribute? We’d love to listen. Do you have a heart for prayer? We’d love you to join us in praying for blessing, healing and hope for our nation.
