Danny Hunt’s Next Ministry Assignment

Published on November 27, 2020

After many months of conversation, prayer, discernment and reflection – all culminating in clarity and exciting new opportunity – Danny Hunt passed me his resignation this week.

Dear Allan and all,

The time has come for Beth and I to take the next step in our journey.  I will resign my role as Associate Pastor from 30 June 2021.  We believe God is leading us to join the new Global Interaction Outback Australia team.  We plan to remain NewHope members, and hope to become NewHope Global partners.

It is with much gratitude to God, to you personally, the staff team and our NewHope community for what will be nearly 13 years of serving together.

Always together following Jesus,

Danny

It is with wildly mixed emotions that we embrace Danny and Beth’s next steps and ours. We are thrilled for how God is leading them into a new season of mission with Global Interaction. Please pray for the Hunt family through this transition. It will mean a continuing partnership with NewHope and mutual blessing. At the same time we are sad for the changes that we must embrace. Above all we are deeply thankful for all that Danny has contributed to NewHope as our Associate Pastor over nearly 13 years – such wise and faithful ministry! Now we must take hold of God’s fresh invitation with courage and hope.

Danny will continue in his role through the first half of next year. We have already begun to give our attention to next steps and to future arrangements beyond June 2021, so please pray earnestly with us. In the coming months we will have the opportunity to hear more about the GiA calling, to participate together in a commissioning for Danny and Beth and, of course, to celebrate the wonderful years of impacting ministry.  – Pastor Allan
