Exercising Generosity

Published on August 26, 2020

Are you looking for an opportunity to exercise generosity? Below are three opportunities we’ve become aware of recently you might like to connect with. Even the smallest gift has an impact. Let’s continue to reach out beyond ourselves and pass on the gifts we have received from God.

Support a PERSON: Maria

On 24th July 2020, Maria’s world was turned upside down. As if 2020 hasn’t been bad enough, Maria was diagnosed with breast cancer. Maria is a friend of Arthur and Queila who are in charge of NewHope’s Brazilian Ministry.
Maria came to Australia in 2013 from her home country of Colombia. She is now on a student visa, and was about to move to a rural town in South Australia in her last bid for permanent residency just prior to COVID-19. Due to the pandemic, Maria has not had an income for the last few months and is not eligible for any type of government support.
You can read more of Maria’s story and donate via her Facebook donate page.

Support a LOCAL BUSINESS: Cafe Rubix

Last week a car ran through the front of Café Rubix, one of the cafés in the Kerrimuir shopping center across the road from NewHope. What a lot of for this local family business to deal with on top of everything else. Rubix is frequented by NewHopers after our (pre-COVID) morning worship services, as well as our staff team during the week. We invite you to join us in loving our neighbours.

Please consider donating to Rubix via the GoFundMe page.

Offer support to the WORLD: Beirut

Hundreds of thousands of people are homeless after the deadly explosion in Beirut. Without food, water, and medicine, they’re now fighting to survive. Your urgent help is needed to save the lives of children, women, and men in Beirut.

Please give to BWAA’s Beirut Explosion Response.
